Canadian Dental Care Plan
Making Dental Care More Accessible
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a Government of Canada program designed to make dental care more affordable for eligible individuals who do not have private dental insurance.
At our clinic, we are pleased to welcome patients covered under the CDCP and to guide them through the process so they can receive the dental care they need.
* Patients already covered by the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)
- Have you completed your renewal?
- Will your coverage be active on the date of your appointment?
- Are you still eligible for the CDCP?
* Important *
We are not responsible for, and are unable to verify, your eligibility, the renewal of your coverage, or the status of your coverage under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). It is your responsibility to ensure that your coverage is active before the date of your appointment.
How it works
The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal program that helps cover the cost of many essential dental services. Depending on your individual circumstances, the plan may pay for part or all of the eligible treatment costs.
It is important to understand that the CDCP is not a dental insurance plan. It is a government program with its own established fee schedule. In some cases, patients may be responsible for paying the difference between the amount covered by the CDCP and the fees charged by the dental clinic.
You may qualify for the CDCP if you meet the eligibility requirements established by the Government of Canada, including:
- You are a Canadian resident.
- You do not have access to private or employer-sponsored dental insurance.
- You have filed your income tax return.
- Your adjusted family net income meets the program’s eligibility requirements.
Eligibility criteria may change over time. We encourage you to consult the Government of Canada’s official website for the most up-to-date information. Click here
The CDCP may help cover the cost of a wide range of dental services, including:
- Dental examinations
- Dental X-rays
- Teeth cleanings and scaling
- Fillings
- Gum disease (periodontal) treatments
- Tooth extractions
- Root canal therapy
- Dentures (subject to program eligibility)
- Certain more complex treatments, when eligible and, in some cases, with prior authorization
Coverage varies depending on the type of treatment and your individual eligibility.
Every patient has unique oral health needs. Before beginning any treatment, our dental team will perform a comprehensive examination to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your oral health.
We will also explain which treatments are covered under the CDCP and advise you of any out-of-pocket costs that may apply.
Our goal is to ensure you have all the information you need to make informed decisions about your dental care.
