Periodontics aims to detect, diagnose, treat and prevent diseases that affect the periodontium. The periodontium is the set of tissues that ensure that our teeth remain firmly anchored in the jawbone: the gums, the alveolar-dental ligament, the dental cementum and the alveolar bone.
